June 19: National Aboriginal History Month event

Join us for a panel discussion that will consider the impact of the Supreme Court’s upcoming Keewatin Lands decision on current and future resources development projects with First Nations.

The Law Society and the Chiefs of Ontario invite you to learn from Aboriginal community leaders, experts and resource development industry representatives about the successes and challenges around First Nation resource development.

Speakers include:

  • Chief Fobister Sr., Grassy Narrows
  • John Beaucage, former Grand Council Chief, Anishinabek Nation
  • Robert Janes, counsel, Grassy Narrows
  • Scott Frazer, managing director, Cedarvale Energy

A 6 p.m. reception, featuring keynote speaker Alan Corbiere of the Ojibwe Cultural Foundation, will follow.
