Ottawa’s Special Call
Law Society of Upper Canada Treasurer Janet E. Minor called The Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, to the Bar of Ontario during the Ottawa Call to the Bar ceremony on June 15.
The Minister also delivered the keynote address to the more than 240 soon-to-be lawyers in the audience along with their family and friends, members of the judiciary, Law Society benchers and invited guests.
The LLD Recipients
The Law Society confers LLDs, honoris causa, in recognition of outstanding achievements in service and benefit to the legal profession, the rule of law or the cause of justice.
Honorary LLD presentations took place at the Call to the Bar ceremonies held in London and Toronto. Each LLD recipient served as an inspirational keynote speaker for the new lawyers attending the Call ceremonies.
