Long-time paralegal gets first Denison Award for access to justice work – Jenny Vuay Quan
The Law Society congratulates long-time paralegal Jenny Vuay Quan, the inaugural recipient of the J. Shirley Denison Award.
Quan received the honour at the Law Society Awards ceremony on May 25th at Osgoode Hall.
Licensed in 2012, Ms. Quan has served for more than 28 years as a Community Legal Worker for the Metro Toronto Chinese & Southeast Asian Legal Clinic.
She has helped thousands of clients, many of whom are disadvantaged and suffer from mental illness and trauma, for almost three decades.
The J. Shirley Denison Award was established in 2015 to honour former Treasurer John Shirley Denison and his commitment to helping others.
The award recognizes significant contributions to access to justice and/or poverty issues.
Both lawyer and paralegal licensees of the Law Society of Upper Canada are eligible.
