Law Society Medal for Jennifer E. Babe
Jennifer E. Babe of Miller Thomson LLP in Toronto was awarded the Law Society Medal at Osgoode Hall on May 25.
The Law Society Medal is given annually to Ontario lawyers for outstanding service within the profession, whether in the area of practice, in the academic sphere, or in some other professional capacity where the service is in accordance with the highest ideals of the legal profession.
As chair of Miller Thomson’s pro bono committee, Ms. Babe leads by example in donating numerous hours to the development of two projects in conjunction with Ryerson University and Pro Bono Law Ontario.
Ms. Babe was called to the Bar in 1982. She earned an LL.M., at the London School of Economics and Political Science (1981) and her LL.B., from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University (1979).
She exemplifies leadership in the profession through her work with her clients, her teaching, her writing, pro bono legal services and community service, including work on law reform submissions through the Ontario Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association and other organizations.
The Law Society recognized 14 members of the legal professions at its annual awards ceremony.
