Lisa Borsook earns Law Society’s Laura Legge Award

Lisa Borsook, Law Society Medal recipientLisa Borsook was awarded the Laura Legge Award at the 2016 Law Society Awards on May 25th.

Called to the Bar in 1982, Lisa Borsook has demonstrated extraordinary achievement and leadership throughout her career as managing partner and now as an executive partner at WeirFoulds LLP.

Borsook is one of the first of few women to be named managing partner of a large law firm in Ontario.

She is recognized for her contributions and advocacy of diversity and women in the legal profession, as well as her work on other boards and service in the community.

The Laura Legge Award recognizes women lawyers from Ontario who have exemplified leadership within the profession.

The award was established in 2007 in honour of the late Laura Legge, O.Ont., Q.C., the first woman to be elected as a bencher of the Law Society and the first woman to serve as Treasurer.

The Law Society honoured 14 members of the legal professions at the annual event.
