Paralegal guidelines amended re: language rights
The Paralegal Professional Conduct Guidelines were amended to enhance guidance to paralegals in situations where clients should be made aware of their right to use an official or statutorily recognized language of their choice. The amendments also provide guidance for paralegals in considering whether they can competently provide legal services in the language chosen by the client.
For more information on the amendments to the Paralegal Professional Conduct Guidelines see the Paralegal Standing Committee report to Convocation.
The Guideline amendments follow related amendments to the Paralegal Rules of Conduct, approved by Convocation in September 2017.
