Haigh re-appointed Chair of Paralegal Standing Committee
Law Society Bencher Michelle L. Haigh was today re-appointed as Chair of the Paralegal Standing Committee (PSC).
She has been Chair since April 2015.
First appointed to the PSC in 2006 by the Attorney General of Ontario, Bencher Haigh has worked with the committee to establish the by-laws governing the paralegal profession and has contributed to the ongoing improvements to the paralegal licensing process.
She has also been active in a number of working groups, including the Governance Issues Working Group of the Priority Planning Committee, which was instrumental in increasing the number of Paralegal Benchers from two to five.
A licensed paralegal and founding partner of Precision Paralegal Services LLP, she has 20 years’ experience in the Small Claims Court.
She graduated with Honours from the Paralegal Studies program at Sheridan College in 1996. She also holds Faculty of Law Certificate(s) in ADR/Advanced ADR from the University of Windsor.
A mentor for many paralegals, Bencher Haigh is a member of the Toronto Small Claims Court “Frequent User Committee”, Humber College Program Advisory Board, and former member of the Sheridan College Advisory Board. She has been an appointed director of the Board of Directors for Legal Aid Ontario since 2011.
